Happy Birthday Debbie!!!

Let me introduce everyone to the most wonderful, kind Mother-in-love EVER:

Today is my sweet husband's mom's birthday - did I say that right?

I cannot even begin to find the right words to express how very blessed I feel about having Debbie as family. Prior to being married, I always heard such horrible stories from my friends about their MILs, and I admittedly was a little concerned even as much as I might try to honor and respect someone - that would not be reciprocated.

However, I am truly humbled by God's grace and love, as he has not only given me a husband I am not worthy to have....he has also given me a sweet extra family that I have truly come to not just respect, but love.

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Debbie! My favorite mother-in-LOVE! I pray you have an awesome year!

Dallas, Knights and Matt Chandler

Scotty and I had a BLAST in Dallas over the Valentine's weekend. It was nice to get away somewhere for a couple of days. We didn't really have a full-out planned weekend. We just knew we wanted to go to Medieval Times (we always drive by and think about going) and we wanted to visit The Village Church.

Well, we drove to Dallas on a Friday and came back on a Monday. Saturday (Valentines') we went to the Dallas Arboretum. The flowers and landscape there was really very beautiful! I can imagine many brides in Dallas dream of being married at the Arboretum. That night, we got reservations to go to Medieval Times and then to a nice wine bar in the city.

If you have never heard about Medieval Times, it is pretty much a dinner theater. You are served a three corse meal while watching this huge performance of jousting, sword fighting and alot of neat animals as the actors tell a story. They really want to bring you back to the Medieval Period in time, so they do not give you silverware....really that was not bad at all. The family next to us brought their own plasticware. lol Medieval Times was......different........the horses were lovely and the actors did a very good job. However, they try their best to cram as many people into the statium as possible. Poor Scotty was sitting on the end of the "table" and barely had any room at all for his food. They also, via the website, try to convince you that sitting in the front (i.e. paying more money) would give you a better view. Truthfully, unless you have small children that might not be able to see without standing on their chairs, sitting in the back gives you the same view AND more room! :)

The wine bar was lovely, and we felt like grown-ups. lol Scotty joked how we spent the day visiting all the stages of life: retirement (arboretum), childhood (medieval times) and adult (wine bar). On Sunday, we visited The Village Church.

We love the messages from Pastor Matt Chandler. Scotty will download them onto his blackberry and listen to them in the car and at home, instead of radio. We immediately fell in love with the church after the 1st visit. We have been seeking a church home for a while now, and were kind-of bummed to know that the one church where we have felt an immediate pull to "dive in" is located a couple hundred miles away from us......

We are praying diligently for a church home in our area.

Monday was not too fun. We spend the first 2 hours of our trip "back home" in a Toyota Dealership in Dallas trying to find-out why my car was making weird noises when I drove at low speeds. After 2 hours, they could not find one thing wrong with the car. So, we drove on home.

**Turns out a lug nut (sp) had been put on the wheel loosely and had fallen off into the wheel (between the rim and the inner tire). The maintenance guy at my work figured that out in 5 min - after I had already left my car at another Toyota Dealership in my area for a couple days. *sigh*

All in all, we really had a great time!

Thanks for checking in.
